Day 9: Bows on Black

This outfit is all Ross today, with a few accessories from yard sales to give it a nice flare from the norm. This shirt is lovely with its cute bows and elegant collar. The shorts seem like a fairly bland choice since they are white but there is actually a pattern of diamonds covering them. The cameo necklace was a nice vintage touch to a very modern outfit that gives it a classier feel and makes it stray away from just a 'cute' outfit. I love that the bracelet includes many different elements such as pearls, gold, silver, rhinestones, and black bows since usefulness increases when there are more components (within reason, too many and the item can get gaudy).

Day 8: Classic and Curvy

This was one of my favorite set-ups and outfits thus far. It is quite the ultimate find, in my opinion. Of course, my Neverending Bag from one awesome yard sale comes into play.  The skirt and the shirt  (which is actually a body suit, snaps and all) are both from that sale.
This entire outfit: necklace, earrings, and shoes, all came from various yard sales and eventually all met up in my home to create this lovely ensemble. As you buy new things, or even sort through your old items, try to come up with new ways to mix up your wardrobe by wearing things together that others could only dream of combining. By using places like yard sales, thrift and discount stores, and any other low-priced clothing arena, you can easily build up the necessary wardrobe to never run out of style combinations.

Day 7: Southern Sass

Today I decided to display two versions of the same outfit, one more modest than the other.  My Neverending Bag of Clothes gave me this versatile vest which could be worn with a tank top underneath or not, it is up to the wearer: how they feel about their body and where they will be.
I figured the two versions would be better suited to different jewelry. I chose a fancier set (obtained from different yard sales) that has some fall colors for the less revealing outfit, and for the other, I figured jewelry that is less girly would be more fitting. The shorter boots seemed less formal to me, so I paired them with the corresponding informal ensemble, while leaving the taller, suede-like boots to the modest outfit.

Day 6: Gothic Glory

This is a perfect example of reusing statement pieces, such as this necklace, to create a different ambiance in another outfit. Before, it gave a vintage feel, but in this ensemble it has an intricate, gothic tone. To top it off, I used a bracelet (from a yard sale) with that same atmosphere and design.
These pants were yet another occupant of the Neverending Bag. They are a bit old-fashioned and out there, but I thought they were pretty cool. They are a cloth, plaid fabric with a complex design on top made of velvet. In the long run, it is your own opinion that matters. My ruffle, lace shirt is one that I got years ago at Ross when I was going school shopping(gotta love tax-free weekends).
Most black shoes would work with this. I just chose these flats because they have a bunch of metal studs on them. Overall, the outfit isn't the most common, but I find that it can be nice stand out every once in awhile.

Day 5: Grunge Glam

The Neverending Bag of Clothes from the Day 1 yard sale continues, this time featuring a floral, high-waisted skirt, best paired with a tight undershirt. However, depending on your style preference, you may want to go with a cropped jacket/shrug to make it more modest or even a baggy sweater for a grunge aesthetic. Honestly, it all depends on you as a person and what you already own.
The shirt is my go-to when it comes to high-waisted skirts and is just an inexpensive spaghetti strap that I got at a yard sale.
I decided on a black, suede-like wedge to give the outfit a more youthful tone and the green flower necklace for a feminine touch. The necklace was a yard sale item and the wedges were bought at target for $19.99(?). I believe they were on sale or there was a bogo, but it has been years so I'm not too sure on that price. They could easily be replaced by a nice pair of black flats or combat boots or whatever floats your boat.

Wedges price:$19.99?

Day 4: Flower Frenzy

This dress/shirt is a recent addition to my wardrobe and has the same story as my Day 1: Linen love shirt. Yard sales are a valid shopping option for anyone, so long as you aren't afraid of the heat and sorting through piles of clothes to find the one, or two, or ten pieces that speak to you.
Considering how loud this outfit is, I tried to dress it up with minimal accessories that blend well into the overall look. My capris were from a local thrift store and were the ideal color to pair with the shirt. This belt has already been mentioned in the Day 3 post and will definitely be featured again, as versatility is a key component in deciding on what to buy. Reusing accessories is a fantastic way to cut down on clothing expenses (especially if the accessory came with an outfit and is removable, e.g. this belt). The necklace and ring featured in this post are both from yard sales. One of the first things I do when I go to a sale is check out the jewelry section, because people get rid of the craziest things at the cheapest prices, and I can't fathom their choice, but I go with it and continue on with my day. The Ralph Lauren shoes were from the Day 1 post and are just making a reappearance.

Day 3: Breezy Blue

This is a brand new Calvin Klein dress from Ross that was a deal too good to pass up. This was originally a $40 dress, but it was on clearance and I got it for an amazing $4.23 (and it was my size to boot). Clearance items are almost always the way to go.
I added a belt that I had from another outfit (that will most likely be showcased here at some point), a $1 lacey metal necklace from a yard sale (originally a Claire's product), and a $6 sterling silver ring from a yardsale. The key to any outfit is to have an image in mind of how you want to portray yourself (in this instance, classy was the look I was going for). From there, just add little things to it to make it your style, and the end result should be a brilliant broadcast of the person you want to show the world.
Dress Price: $ 4.23
Blue-stoned ring Price: $ 6
Necklace price: $ 1
Outfit Price: $ 11.23
