Day 132: Baby Bear

Where there is a Goldilocks, there is a baby bear. For the little girl where everything needs to be 'just right' she can have her stuffed friend by her side to keep her company in the times that are not fine. Also, to keep that girl out of trouble is a button-down jumpsuit. Add some socks to match the trim of the outfit and she is ready for the day. The outfit was actually a gift, but she's been waiting about a year to wear it. The best thing about kids is that even if you buy clothes that are a bit too big, they'll grow into them and you can say you meant for them to be that way. Her socks are from a big lot bought at a garage sale and are lovely for the ensemble.

Day 131: Blazing Bling

So much shine, so little time. From afar, it looks like a simple,comfy, stylish outfit, and up close it still is, but the simple aspect kind of fades away the more one notices all the details. Literally every single item has some form of shine on it. Even the sweater has stripes of metallic gold in it, which is what inspired me to incorporate all of the other items. The jeans are Caché, and the stud designs on the side are a nice addition to spice up any outfit I wear with them. The neckline of the shirt is so detailed and pretty, it basically substitutes wearing a necklace. The sun was just peeking over the trees when I took these photos, so the main outfit pictures are the darkest, a glimpse can be seen on the side of the ring,  and then there is full on gorgeous sunrise reflected in the bracelet. The sweater and shoes are from Ross and everything else is from yard sales.

Day 130: Sally Stitches

Her shirt says it all, she is just too cute and I don't know how she can handle it. Babies generally don't have access to mirrors for long periods of time, so that's probably the only way she can live with her adorableness. The polka dots and the stitches make for a great pair since there is a sharpness seen in both. Her socks actually have polka dots hidden inside the ruffles as well, as if the fact that her socks have ruffles wasn't great enough. The shirt, pants, and socks are from garage sales and the shoes were bought using Facebook.

Day 129: Crystals and a Cross

My scarf has pockets, I repeat my scarf has pockets! On top of being beautiful, it is also made by Michael Kors, so hopefully it'll last for many years to come. It had its original price tag on it as well, and it was $68.00 in his store. Of course, I didn't pay that. My amazing price from Ross was $2.79, and I'm not sure if any sane person could overlook that. Sometimes, I buy stuff from there just because it's $.42 (like this shirt) and I figure at least one person I know will fit in it. Let's move on to the necklace, which is quite uniquely made. It is white titanium druzy and each crystal has an opaque, well-shaped side and a side that is raw and iridescent. They're hanging on a sterling silver chain in such a way as to highlight both sides by alternating the inner and outer part of the stone. To go along with the silver, the jewelry was chosen for its simple, clean-cut designs using the metal. The capris are also from Ross and the boots were a gift.

Day: 128: Rainbow Reaper

Children's minds are malleable and teaching them at a young age ensures the values will be instilled in them for the rest of their days (within reason of course). If I teach confidence and self-love and a sprinkle of fashion, they will rule the world and look dazzling doing it. This girl is getting an early start and I'm sure that she will grow into a lovely woman. For now, she can be a gorgeous baby in rainbow ruffles and pigtails. She can enjoy her curls while they last, though I hope that is forever. With how much love she doles out to those who meet her, it is no surprise that bright, lively colors suit her so well. The shirt is from a thrift store and the socks are from a garage sale. The leggings were a gift.

Day 127: Friend of a Flower

Rompers with snaps on them are one of the best fashion ideas ever dreamed of for children. They're easy to play in, cute, easy to pick out, and best of all, kids can't take their diapers off when they're wearing them. A lot of kids have that issue, whether it be due to comfort, curiosity, or just something to do. This fixes that problem because they have zero access to the diaper now. I don't have to fear turning my back for literally two seconds while I pick up a toy and finding a naked child in place of a previously well-dressed one. Anyways, it always cracks me up that kids' clothing has pockets while adult women are lucky if they have even one of those tiny decorative(?) ones that barely fit a quarter. I'm actually pretty curious what those are even for. Bobby pins? Finally, the romper is from a thrift store and the socks are from a yard sale.

Day 126: Smart meets Sharp

When I first showed these shoes to my mom her reaction was "They look like something your dad would wear." But, I ask this seriously, what is wrong with that? My motto is that I can make anything look good, and it is mainly about placing items in the proper outfit. I didn't want to drop the shoes into a ridiculously girly outfit, so I also added this hat that I got from my grandpa, may he rest in peace. This is an awesome hat because it has ear flaps for the cold weather that fold inwards for when the weather is warm. 

The look was meant to be a play off the dapper clothes men get to wear, with a feminine twist. It's both sharp and chic, and the gold jewelry accents the buckles of the shoes to boot. The mahogany color of the Nine West loafers were what really sold me on them, that and the price. They were originally more expensive (were reduced to $9.99 from $19.99 when I first encountered them), but they got marked down again the second time I looked at them. I figured it must be fate if I met an item twice at Ross and it got a reduced price on top of that. After I tinkered with my outfit, let's just say that my mom now wholly approves of the shoes. The dress was also from Ross, the necklace and bracelet from a yard sale, and I've featured the tights before in Allusion to Alice where my story of how I got them is as well.
