I wanted to take the road less traveled by with this outfit. Instead of an obvious and easy pairing of black flats and casual jewelry, I picked combat boots to contrast with the fairly fancy jewels. It's not a strictly girly, flowery outfit. It has a hard edge from the boots bit still a laid back feeling despite wearing a dress. The fabric at the top of the dress has quite a bit of flow to it but otherwise is pretty subtle. The darkness of the boots makes the belt stand out even more, which keeps the eye at the most flattering area. The necklace is color-matched to the dress but the other jewelry was paired with the necklace, so it's like a chain of matching. It's fine to stray from the easiest path and add an extra flare.
