Day 40: Predator and Prey

Foxes have been known to prey on owlets while the mother is away from the nest. The sneaky creatures use their stealth and prowess to attack the babies. They dare not take on the full grown owl though, for they will not survive the encounter. It is this complex and dangerous relationship that led me to create an outfit that incorporates both of these fearsome predators. Without that back story, one might think it is just another cute ensemble, so it was needed to give perspective. I made a complicated 5-strand braid to suit their connection and to make the outfit a bit more interesting. I borrowed the shoes from someone, so unfortunately I don't know the price (why buy when you can borrow an item that somebody else never uses). The capris and shirt came from Ross, the rings and necklace a yard sale, and the earrings from Claire's when there was a BOGO 50% off sale. Since I was shopping with someone else and they bought something, I got the BOGO. They came in a set of six, so I'll price based on the earrings being 1/6 of the package.
Shirt:$5.99
Capris: $ 7.21
Earrings:$. 83
Necklace:$1
Furry ring:$. 50
Black-eyed ring:$. 50
Outfit:$16.03
Sometimes it's nice to give your outfit a meaning deeper than just, I thought this was pretty.
