Day 61: Peace and Plaid

Today's outfit has a bit of a dark edge with a girly twist. The beads add just the right amount of brightness to keep it from getting too deep in the shadows. This dress has the slightly frustrating quality of being too long to be a shirt but too shirt to be a dress, so it requires the perfect solid leggings to keep everything covered, without being too bulky like jeans. It's usually a pretty safe bet to accentuate the darkest color of an outfit to make the other colors stand out. The opposite can also be true, where the lightest color gets the spotlight, but that can be tricky, if it's too bright, you might start blinding people. I was actually given this dress (so I don't know the price) and I accessorized it to fit me and my style using the belt and boots and beads. I own basically zero plaid so it's great to add another pattern to my collection. Everything else was from yard sales (the boots/leggings have been discussed before).
Belt:0 (taken from other dress)
Boots:$3
Leggings:$. 50
Necklace:$. 50
Bracelet:$. 25
Outfit :$ 4.25
Looking cute doesn't have to mean looking childish.

    1. Thanks, accentuating and accessorizing are two of my favorite things to do with my outfits.
